We live in a society obsessed with self. Me, myself and I are the favorite three of many. When religion is blended with this self-centeredness, we find hypocrisy and legalism as evidenced by the Pharisees.
In this week's text, Jesus challenges this unbiblical mindset and hones in on where the battle really is, the condition of our hearts.
May God work His power in us, and may we be a people who worship God with our hearts, and not empty lip service.
