What does the cross mean to me?

It’s a symbol I often see, hear about, speak of regularly myself and even wear from time to time.

Yet, do I truly grasp what the cross means, those two pieces of wood nailed together, the rough, splintery surface, the gruesome form of death it represents?

Black Saturday, the day between Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday.

This was the day of seemingly hopelessness, for the sinless Son of God was dead and buried.

Saturday is often forgotten, but therein lies a valuable lesson which we should take to heart.

Resurrection Sunday, the glorious day we reflect on the blessed reality of Jesus being raised from the dead!

Yet, has this yearly celebration simply became a routine?

Has the grandeur of this monumental event slipped past our field of view?
